The biggest risks colleges identify have been surprisingly stable, given a tumultuous year in Higher Education. Here are the top 10 risks in an annual survey from the insurer United Educators:

  1. Admissions and retention (↔️ unchanged from last year)
  2. Data security and cybersecurity (↔️ unchanged)
  3. Compliance — non-Title IX/Violence Against Women Act (�� up two spots)
  4. Operational pressures (�� down one spot)
  5. Facilities and deferred maintenance (�� up one spot)
  6. Funding and financial stability (�� up two spots)
  7. Student mental health (↔️ unchanged)
  8. Recruitment and hiring (�� down four spots)
  9. Public safety (↔️ unchanged)
  10. Athletics (* new to the top 10)
