Sharon Campbell
Sharon effectively combined her government administration and industrial plant experience with builds, startups, operations, maintenance, and process management to effectively lead facilities and auxiliary services in public and private higher education for 27 years.
Her skill in strategic assessment and planning, capital projects, personnel, process/standard operations development and implementation, change management, quality assessment and standards, and budget management led to success in developing and implementing strategic plans that assisted institutions in achieving their mission and objectives.
Assisting staff with effective planning, maximizing their contributions, achieving goals, continuing education, and career advancement allowed her to build effective teams throughout her careers.
Key career successes include regulatory, energy, and personnel advancement programs design and implementation, and negotiating multi-year contracts for energy, raw materials, and utilities. She was a key member and contributor to the effective planning and operations for re-opening Meredith College during the Covid pandemic.
Companies and government entities served include the County of Amherst, Virginia, Grief Brothers (pulp and paper), Weyerhaeuser, (paper and wood products), ServiceMaster, the Virginia Department of Taxation, and Aramark.
During her tenure in facilities services she served at George Washington University, Trinity College, Longwood University, Mary Baldwin College, and Meredith College. Her awards and recognitions include Best Team Advancement (Weyerhaeuser), Most Efficient Operator, and regional Facility Lead Manager of the Year (Aramark).
As a Facilities director, Sharon actively participated in APPA (Association of Facilities Administrators), the NC Energy Conferences and presented on facilities and energy topics. She achieved certification as a Facilities Management Administrator through the Building Owners and Managers Institute International (BOMA) and holds a BS in Business and Organizational Change from Eastern Mennonite University.
As an R Ledbetter associate, Sharon’s goal is to learn and understand the client’s mission, culture, internal and existential pressures, risks, and facilities operations, and use her experience in working with appropriate staff and facilities teams to assess and facilitate outcomes that support the institution and advancement of strategic goals.
